For the third year in a row, the Illustrators of AGM want to help out any way they can and are offering to work for FREE.
The exclusive offer is available to non-profit organizations and charities that wouldn’t normally have the budget to commission original illustrations from the Montreal-based agency.
AGM Founder Anna Goodson said: “We’ve been very fortunate and wanted to give something back to the industry. There are so many organizations out there that don’t have the budgets to spend on original illustrations. That’s why we wanted to help and offer our services for FREE.”
Founded in 1996, AGM is a boutique-style International agency that serves the global marketing needs of the visual arts community. Today, AGM’s illustrators work alongside some of the world’s leading advertising agencies, design firms, magazines, publishers and newspapers. To celebrate this holiday season, Anna Goodson Management has launched its collection of 42 Christmas Coasters 2012.

The international agency – which represents some of the most celebrated illustrators from around the globe – has released its annual ‘Have a drink on us’ coaster collection for the tenth consecutive year.

Anna explained: “Times are tough for everyone these days and we just wanted to come up with a theme that was fun and playful, that’s why we came up with “LIFE IS A CIRCUS” to bring out the child in us all.

I was asked to write a follow up to my original post on “How to become a successful Illustrator”. These are the questions and my answers. I hope this gives you more insight.

“Which markets are the most saturated?”
I don’t think any one market is over saturated. I just think that there are many talented illustrators out there available to take on commissions. There are more illustrators and less jobs, which makes the competition for work that much greater.

“What are some good websites and resources for getting your name out there?”
There are lots of resources and websites, all you need to do is spend some good quality time searching for them. Google is a great start. Personally, I love hireanillustrator.com, www.illustrationmundo.com and altpick.com just to name a few.

“Can you get representation right away or do you need to have work experience first?”
If you are lucky, yes sure why not. I have taken on many new and up and coming illustrators over the years. I think that if you work a bit on your own first, it gives you a better appreciation for what a rep or agent does, but if you want to be represented right away then go for it.
