Belicta was commissioned by The Wall Street Journal to illustrate and animate the moving Review feature, “Love on the Brain.”

The essay, written by C.J. Farley, recounts his wife’s journey through a traumatic brain injury and the unexpected role that romance novels played in her cognitive recovery.

To capture this delicate intersection of medicine and emotion, Belicta utilized a high-contrast, half-tone collage style that bridges the gap between clinical reality and the sanctuary of fiction.
