Nathalie Dion illustrated a text for Professionally Speaking magazine that highlights the practice of bringing indigenous elders into the classroom to teach students about their history and culture.

The elders transfer knowledge through storytelling, a common tradition of First Nations, Métis and the Inuit communities.  Discussions about indigenous language, early community life and traditional arts and crafts are topics the elders explore with students as part of a resurgence in the practice of elder storytelling to young people.
