Noemi Fabra / Decor Maine Magazine / Oak Gall Ink: Rediscovering Purpose in Creative Acts

Noemi Fabra

Noemi Fabra was commissioned by Decor Maine Magazine to illustrate an article by Chelsea Scudder which reflects on the interplay between creativity, ecological awareness, and personal renewal. She inspires by rediscovering oak galls beneath ancient trees to craft natural ink as a response to the ecological crisis. Amidst the modern pressures of efficiency and disconnection, the act of making ink becomes a meditative practice, reconnecting her to the natural world and her writing. As she writes with the homemade ink, she contemplates the alchemy of nature and creativity, finding meaning in slowing down, observing, and engaging deeply with the world around her.
