Resilience and Grit for The Boston Globe

View Portfolio

Nick Ogonosky was tasked with creating a piece to accompany an article in the Boston Globe about rethinking the use of the word “resilient” as it can take away from the structural issues and hardships that people face throughout their lives. In this illustration, Nick created a figure made of textured, stacked stones to elude to the strength and grit that comes to mind when we deem an individual as resilient. A figure is seen pulling a stone from the stack to portray the harm we can do just by using such an insensitive term.
