Roberto Cigna / All green energy by 2050

Roberto Cigna’s latest illustration on renewable energy is based on a new study that finds that economies of countries around the world could shift entirely to renewable energy sources, such as solar, wind and hydroelectric, by the year 2050.

Cigna notes that according to Mark Z. Jacobson, professor of civil and environmental engineering at Stanford and an author of the study, “The idea is to electrify all energy sectors: transportation, heating, cooling, industry, agriculture, forestry, and fishing, and to provide electricity with 100% wind, water and solar power.”

Cigna’s illustration of a potted light bulb being tended to by a man and a woman inside the pot with a large light switch on it shows just how green energy might become in the future.
