Roberto Cigna / Lady Liberty takes flight

View Portfolio

Roberto Cigna’s comment on the state of liberty in America as Lady Liberty herself prepares to board a plane to take flight.

Cigna suggests that this moment in history is so critical, even the Statue of Liberty wants to get away.

Cigna’s modern Liberty, dressed neatly in a white dress with a shoulder bag slung over one arm, wears her spiked crown representing the seven seas and continents and carries her torch; still lit but lowered.

Here, Liberty herself is pictured breaking free from the chains of tyranny.
