Located between Canada and Iceland and between the North Atlantic and Arctic Oceans, Greenland is the world’s largest island. A Danish colony until the mid-1900s, it is currently part of the Kingdom of Denmark but enjoys autonomous status, playing a key geopolitical role, especially for NATO and the United States.
