Marta Antelo, a native of Valencia, Spain, earned her degree in fine arts from Universidad Politécnica in Valencia. After graduating from university, she moved to Madrid where she lives and works as a freelance illustrator.
Antelo set up shop in a small design studio with her boyfriend, Ray, an art director. The illustrator likes to work in a room with a lot of light. Original and passionate as a child, Antelo is always searching for the best way to illustrate whatever concept an editorial assignment requires.
She finds inspiration in old magazines, paintings, either very modern or ancient art, and in the work of other illustrators.
Antelo’s editorial and children’s book illustration embraces a certain child-like innocence. The people, characters, and places that animate her world can be found on the pages of magazines, newspapers, and children’s books.
