Jennifer Tapias Derch, born in Colombia, studied fine arts and graphic design in Valencia, Spain, where she currently lives and works as an illustrator and graphic designer.
Tapias Derch never imagined she’d one day become an artist but knew she felt a strong need to communicate the ideas swirling around in her head. She’s created her own style and language through illustration. Tapias Derch is influenced by symbolism of daily life, by art and literature, and by people she encounters every day.
Using limited graphic elements in bold, two-or three-color compositions with black and white, Tapias Derch’s conceptual editorial illustration is featured in newspapers and magazines internationally.
