Andy Potts / Motor Pro Magazine / Closing the Loop

Illustrator Andy Potts has created the new cover illustration and editorial artwork for Motor Pro magazine, exploring how the automotive industry is embracing the circular economy to build a more sustainable future.

The feature, Closing the Loop, examines how the motor industry is redesigning the lifecycle of vehicles through smarter vehicle design, repair, reuse, remanufacturing, and recycling of automotive components. As sustainability becomes a key focus across the sector, the illustrations communicate these complex ideas through bold, engaging visual storytelling.

Andy developed a series of digital collage illustrations in Photoshop, including the magazine cover and two interior editorial illustrations. The cover artwork was carefully designed to integrate with the publication’s distinctive circular headline typography, while the interior pieces were tailored to fit the feature’s page layouts seamlessly.

Known for his vibrant editorial illustration style, Andy combines technical subject matter with dynamic, people-focused compositions and striking colour palettes, making complex topics accessible and visually compelling for readers.
