Andy Potts / New Editorial Illustration for Al Majalla: AI, the Pentagon and Silicon Valley

Andy Potts recently created a new editorial illustration for Al Majalla, accompanying an article examining the Pentagon’s increasingly close relationship with Silicon Valley and how artificial intelligence (AI) is being integrated into classified military networks through partnerships with the world’s largest technology companies.
The illustration explores the complex layers of AI infrastructure shaping modern defence systems. To bring the concept to life, Andy combined Cinema 4D 3D-modelled elements with Adobe Photoshop digital collage, creating a dynamic conceptual image that reflects the interconnected technologies at the core of Pentagon operations.
This latest commission showcases Andy’s approach to editorial illustration, combining 3D illustration, digital collage and conceptual design to communicate complex subjects including AI, defence technology, cybersecurity and innovation.
