Back in 2022, Belicta Castelbarco was commissioned to create a few geopolitical illustration collages for an article for Stern Magazine Germany about how young minds get drawn into populist pipelines and alternative media bubbles, titled “My Son Would Vote for the AfD”.

The article explores how children and teenagers are being influenced by the right-wing populist party AfD’s rhetoric online. It specifically details a mother’s realization that her 14-year-old son was echoing far-right talking points after consuming content from highly viral social media channels and financial/lifestyle podcasts like “Hoss & Hopf”.
