Daniella Ferretti / Boston Globe / “Don’t Be a Stranger” Book Review

Daniella Ferretti was asked to work on an illustration for Boston Globe Books section, to accompany a book review of “Don’t Be a Stranger” by Susan Minot, a novel about a woman who becomes obsessed with an unattached younger man.

The story takes place in New York and shows how powerfully transformative a sexual entanglement can be for a woman starved for sensation and attention. And how a lover’s approach-avoidance behavior can curdle pleasure into obsession.

Seduction, dopamine, addiction, ghosting and self-deception were some of the concepts Daniella worked on for this project. The piece was published on Sunday printed edition.
