Diego Blanco / Nea Today / Unions in our neighborhood

Diego Blanco was commissioned to create two covers for NEA Today, a magazine published by the National Education Association (NEA) that focuses on issues relevant to public education, educators, and union members across the United States. It features news, policy updates, classroom tips, and stories that highlight the work of teachers and education professionals.
One of the covers was for NEA Today for NEA-Retired Members, May 2025 edition, specifically targeting retired educators who remain active and engaged in the education community.
The second cover was for the NEA Today main issue, also for May 2025.
In addition to the two covers, Diego also created a detailed “seek and find” illustration featuring local union members in various community settings—inviting readers to spot and recognize the union heroes in their own neighborhoods.
