What is the standard process for working with an illustrator on a project?

To hire an illustrator or animator, contact us with your brief to give us an idea of the project’s scope, budget, timeline and usage (hello [at] agoodson [dot] com). The first step is a consultation to discuss your vision and specific requirements. A contract is then prepared to detail the deliverables, rates, usage (where the artwork will be used and for how long), and copyright. As a globally reputable agency, we specialize in all aspects of project management. Once the project is ready to be executed, the client and artist work closely together at every step of the creative process. The illustrator/animator may provide sketches or storyboards for your feedback. After revisions and final approval, the illustrator/animator delivers the artwork in the agreed-upon format.

How much does commissioning an illustration cost?

Quotes vary based on the nature of the commissioned work: its usage (where will the artwork be used and for how long?), its size (are we talking business card or billboard?), market (an international or local campaign?), number of deliverables, and complexity. To discuss your project and get a quote, please get in touch via our contact form or by email at hello [at] agoodson [dot] com.

If I want to commission one of your artists, can’t I just contact them directly?

The advantage of working with an international illustration agency like ours is that we take care of the initial contact and all business aspects of a creative project. That has been our specialty for nearly 30 years so that our illustrators can focus on what they do best: art! If you would like to hire one of the illustrators or animators represented by Anna Goodson Illustration agency, we ask that you please reach out to us via our contact form. Once the project is ready to be executed, our clients communicate directly with the artist on all things related to style, revisions and final deliverables.

How long does it usually take for an illustrator to complete a project?

The timeline for a project depends on the nature of the work, its complexity, the number and size of the deliverables required, the illustrator’s workload, and your deadlines. The timeline for each project is discussed in advance and outlined in the agreement. To discuss your project, please get in touch via our contact form or by email at hello [at] agoodson [dot] com.

Can I request revisions on the illustrations?

A set number of revisions is included in the agreement, as well as any additional costs for revisions that exceed the agreed-upon limit.

What are the copyright and licensing options when hiring an illustrator?

Copyright for the artwork remains with the artist and is not transferred to the client unless expressly stated in the contract. Depending on the specific project and the usage of the artwork, copyright and licensing options (e.g., exclusive or non-exclusive licensing, royalties, etc.) are discussed and detailed in the agreement prior to the start of the project.

How can I ensure that the illustrator I hire will deliver high-quality work and meet deadlines?

For nearly 30 years, we have represented illustrators and animators who are professional, reliable, and compliant with project requirements and timelines. Our hands-on approach to project management ensures that projects stay on track and exceed our clients’ expectations.
