Jiyeun Kang has been selected as the winner of AMERICAB ILLUSTRATION 42.
In this illustration, she aims to express her thoughts on the recent wars threatening the world.
Through this artwork, she portrays us all as travelers born in a precious Earth,
shining alone in the vast universe, temporarily staying before departing.
As contemporary beings, she urges us to cherish and beautify this time.
She’s saying that the lives on this land, falling tragically due to war,
are too precious and beautiful to die in such a manner through the war.
So she’s pleading for the war to stop.
