They include Henry Ford (Ford Motors), Sam Walton (Walmart), investigative journalist Ida Tarbell who challenged the toxic monopoly of the oil industry and Frances Perkins, America’s first female Labor secretary, who helped make the government for the first time an active and forceful player in workers’ economic welfare – creating the Social Security Act of 1935.
