Lucila was commissioned to illustrate The Persistent’s article on innovation in childbirth, exploring how technology is reshaping the ways women give birth and reclaim autonomy over their bodies.

Her artwork reflects the complexity of choice—highlighting the emotional, physical, and medical decisions women face. Through organic forms and contrasting structures, she visualized the tension between tradition and future possibilities, emphasizing personal agency and the evolving relationship between the body and birth.
