Marie Wolf / Cicero / The Need for Tax Reforms in Germany

Germany urgently needs tax reforms – but while the government agrees that belts must be tightened and the middle class must be put on a fiscal diet, the ruling parties remain divided over the right measures. One proposal is the abolition of income splitting for married couples, a long-standing tax benefit that has allowed spouses in Germany to lower their tax burden.
In her illustrations, Marie Wolf once again focused on visual storytelling and visual metaphors to make the rather abstract political topic more tangible for the reader. Strong, vibrant colors were used deliberately to create contrast.
