Adobe’s History Recognized

Mia Saine

During Black History Month, Adobe teamed up with Black creatives for the “History Recognized” series to highlight Black pioneers of the past today.

Visual artist and photographer, Mickalene Thomas, was recognized by Illustrator and designer, Mia Saine. For the series, Mia and Adobe debuted a Mickalene Thomas-inspired illustration on Instagram. Also, Mia shared videos of their process on Instagram story and Adobe’s TikTok platform. Also, there are brief, interesting facts about how to identify Thomas’ work and its impact.

Thomas is known for her colorful and empowering representations of Black women. Thomas’ compositions have been featured in numerous exhibitions across America, including “Michelle O”, the first well-known painting of former First Lady Michelle Obama, at the National Portrait Gallery.
