Nathan Hackett / Monocle Magazine / October Issue

Nathan was asked to illustrate for two articles in the October issue of Monocle Magazine.
The first article decrypted the dress codes of iconic leaders on the global stage and how their styles have become synonymous with their identities. The article featured leader celebrities like Kristrún Frostadóttir, and her ‘up market’ and trendy fashion forward look as prime minister of Iceland, and the historic ceremonial garb of pope Leo XIV.
Here Nathan illustrated fun caricatures of the figures on a catwalk that the reader can match with the descriptions in the article.
The second article was a feature on a windowless architectural house design in the Gulf state, compound living style that could be made popular in the western world due to environmental pressures and ‘techno-powered isolation’.
Nathan used the architectural plans, interior design and house design to depict a couple enjoying their isolation and shielded from the outside in the safety of their home.
