Nathan Hackett / THFL, Texas Heritage for Living / How to Save on Searing Summer Energy Bills
Nathan was asked to illustrate for Texas Heritage living Magazine for an article giving advice to it’s readers on how to save on their energy costs over the hot Texan summer.
The article suggests practical strategies to upgrade your home and act as a cost effective shield from the punishing sun and humidity.
Nathan illustrated a Texan house where the advice from the text can be found in the narratives playing out. Featuring the Texan architectural style, Nathan made a cross section of a typical Texan property where an engineer is maintaining an efficient HVAC system, a mother of the household is installing black-out curtains in the front room and a father is checking the insulation in the attic with a flesh-light. The colours had to express a hot summer while not being too off-putting or daunting and being friendly to help accentuate the articles helpful, manageable suggestions with a positive outlook.
