Sebastien Thibault / Foreign Policy / Trump’s First 100 Days

Sebastien Thibault

Sébastien Thibault was commissioned by the Foreign Policy team to illustrate their special report on the first 100 days of the Trump administration. The “move fast and break things” approach to foreign policy has been consistent only in its chaos. It’s clear that the second Trump administration is aiming for change—not inertia—in U.S. foreign policy, though the direction of that change is unclear. Four models attempt to explain his motivations so far: the return of realpolitik, domestic policy as foreign policy, the return to the first term and the Republican foreign-policy showdown.
