Audrey Malo / Gloria / The messiness of coming out later in life
Audrey Malo was commissioned by Gloria co-founder Michelle Curb to illustrate a personal essay appearing in their may 5th newsletter. « The messiness of coming out later in life » , written by Justine Harrington, is about realizing her true sexual orientation at 34 after being in a straight monogamous marriage for almost all of her adult life. Using a combination of pastels and punchy colors, Malo illustrated two hands holding amidst a burning fire. A small house can be seen in the background, representing the marriage the author is leaving behind.
