Chris Madden / Better Homes & Gardens / Owning It

Chris Madden was recently commissioned by Better Homes & Gardens magazine to deliver an illustration package for the ‘Owning It’ section. The illustrations were to accompany a story about the home renovation projects you should and shouldn’t do if you’re thinking about resale value and the return on your investment.

Art Director, Maggie Goldsmith requested the illustrations be conceptual but not necessarily refer directly to the copy — instead, combining the subject of home renovations with economic or financial themes. Chris had a lot of fun coming up with concepts for this assignment and the final illustrations were well-received by the BH&G team.
