Dentist Crush

Miguel Monkc was commissioned by Los Angeles Times to create this editorial feature for the Affairs newspaper’s column. The illustration portraits a funny essay about how the witter felt in love with his dentist. Some of the guidelines included making the background white or organic for the print issue and adding a color background for the online use. The print size was around 6 x 4 inches while it was cropped to a 3:2 horizontal ratio for the online presentation. Although there was no intention to recreate the writer’s fiscal features provided by the art director Miguel got his inspiration from the text. Miguel’s work focused on creating something bold, direct and impactful.
