Miguel Monkc created this illustration for El Estornudo (Cuba) in the wake of the riots that occurred in relation to the gangs that painted José Martí’s sculptures red as protest. José Martí is the national poet of that country and one of the most admired political symbols by Cubans. The illustration shows a little girl painting back the sculpture of its characteristic white color.
