Joe Magee / 2024 Stroud Film Festival / Primary Image for the Festival

Joe Magee has been commissioned to create a primary image for the 2024 Stroud Film Festival, https://www.stroudfilmfestival.org/, the illustration being used on booklets, posters, the festival website – and on a limited edition organic beer can, ‘REEL ALE”!

The image, ‘Rabbit & Pigeon’ was inspired by Stroud’s ongoing association with the ancient traditions of wassailing and mummering – ritualistic public performing in pagan costumes.

The film festival programme included films from Nigeria, Finland, Somalia and Iran and with themes ranging from roller skating and weaving, to pirates, climate emergency, farming and managing trauma.
