Miguel Monkc was commissioned this black and white line illustration by The New York Times, just a few hours after hundreds of Cubans took to the streets to march against the economic hardships on July 11th 2021. The illustration focused on four main aspects: unity, diversity, courage and empowerment. Protests of this magnitude, have not been seen in the country for more than 4 decades.
