Miguel Monkc / The Precarity of Postdocs / Nature Magazine

Miguel Monkc was commissioned by Nature magazine (UK) to illustrate a series of three illustrations. The first of this series, features an overview piece offering a snapshot of postdocs around the world in their inaugural survey, with about 7,600 responses. Postdoctoral researchers worldwide are experiencing great distress around their career prospects. They point to low earnings, long hours and an ever-dwindling chance for a stable academic research post as sources of their despair.
