Nick Ogonosky

Nick was asked to come up with illustrations to support an article that discusses the recruitment of young men and boys by white supremacist groups on the internet. To these groups, the perfect candidates are those who feel alone and isolated. Those who feel like they don’t belong. These groups reach out to the young men and give them a sense of hope, belonging and camaraderie.
Nick was tasked with conceptually conveying a sense of these groups preying on these young men while also having the victims portrayed as isolated and innocent. The use of red throughout the illustrations not only represents these groups’ color, but also the feeling of an evil presence as well as blood that has been shed by said groups. Nick’s trademark use of textures further enhances the foreboding atmosphere in these illustrations.
